Project Bhavika – A Safe Space for Girl Students
In a government school with over 113 girls, something as natural as menstruation was silently disrupting education. Every month, nearly 20% of girls were absent. Each year, 8 to 10 dropped out entirely, not due to lack of interest, but because there was no space for them to rest with dignity. Some were sent home. Others curled up in staff rooms, unseen and unsupported.
That is why we launched Project Bhavika, a first-of-its-kind dormitory designed to protect the dignity and well-being of adolescent girls. More than just a physical space, Bhavika offers rest, privacy, and emotional support. It now stands as a sanctuary with clean beds, a private restroom, a small library, purified water, and walls filled with messages of strength. Girls no longer have to choose between their health and their education. They stay, they smile, and they succeed.
Project Chiguru- Educating the underprivileged
Project Chiguru began with a mission to support the higher education of children from vulnerable backgrounds, many of whom are first-generation learners. Through this program, we have funded college tuition, mentorship, and life skills training for 18 students. Four of them are now employed with leading companies like IBM. Beyond academics, Project Chiguru nurtures confidence, purpose, and pride.
As part of the latest update under Initiative 56, we identified and supported two exceptional students. Sharath, the son of a daily wage worker, received help to pursue his dream of completing PU (11th and 12th Grade). Sheetal, the only daughter of Seema, an NGO worker, was empowered to complete her MBA. Both students come from some of the most challenging socioeconomic conditions and now walk paths of growth and hope.
The impact of Project Chiguru reaches far beyond employment. One student, once unable to afford fees, now mentors others and contributes to her household income. Another, after years of family hardship, is now the first graduate in his village.
The program also includes check-ins with families, access to counselors, and exposure visits that broaden horizons. Several Chiguru scholars have returned as mentors, turning their journey into a full circle of empowerment.
Children for Charity - Compassion Starts Young
What happens when children are invited to give, not just receive?
The Children for Charity movement began with a simple idea: to encourage young students to donate their pocket money to support those in need. That small seed of kindness has now grown into a powerful movement involving over 5,000 children across schools.
Through this initiative, children have contributed books, food kits, toys, and even written letters of hope to children in orphanages and hospitals. More than donations, they have shared empathy, joy, and a sense of shared humanity. Children for Charity is not just about giving; it is about raising a generation that believes in compassion as a way of life.
Because when children give with their hearts, they carry that light into the world.
Housing the Homeless
In communities where a roof is a luxury and safety is uncertain, the Ramlan Foundation stepped in with one clear promise: everyone deserves a place to call home.
Through Housing the Homeless, we identified families living in extreme poverty, sleeping on pavements, under tarps, or in makeshift shelters. With the help of grassroots social workers, we provided permanent housing solutions tailored to their needs. These were not just structures of brick and mortar but spaces of belonging, safety, and stability.
For the beneficiaries, this initiative was not just about shelter. It was about sleeping without fear, sending children to school from a secure home, and rebuilding lives with dignity.
Because a home is not just four walls. It is the foundation for hope.
Reaching the Forgotten
Just a few kilometers from the city, hidden in plain sight, lies a slum community living on the edge of survival—no toilets, no secure homes, often no meals for days. A place forgotten by systems, and often by society.
When the Ramlan Foundation visited this colony, we didn’t just bring relief—we brought dignity. We spent time with families, listened to their stories, and offered what little comfort we could. Every household received an umbrella—a simple gesture of care against the harsh sun and rain.
More than what we gave, it was the smiles on their faces that stayed with us. Smiles that reminded us that even in the darkest corners, kindness can shine through. We remain committed to returning, supporting, and walking alongside this community in their journey toward better living.
Because no one deserves to be invisible.
Spreading Joy at Snehalaya
Location: Snehalaya – a care home for the mentally ill and abandoned elderly
As part of our ongoing commitment to human dignity, the Ramlan Foundation conducted a special outreach visit to Snehalaya, a shelter for mentally ill and elderly individuals who have been abandoned by their families and society.
We sponsored breakfast for over 320 residents, but more than the meals, we shared moments of connection, warmth, and care. Many of the residents some unable to speak, others forgotten responded with bright smiles and visible joy. It was a morning of emotional healing, both for them and for us.
Why it Matters:Our belief that kindness is powerful even when words fail. These elders are often left without identity, care, or acknowledgment. Our presence affirmed their worth. Snehalaya’s mission of unconditional care is one we’re proud to support.
Fulfil a Wish Drive
For many elderly individuals in old age homes, even the simplest wishes like a pair of slippers or a favourite snack remain unspoken and unmet. With Initiative #51, the Ramlan Foundation stepped in not just as a donor, but as a listener.
We asked the residents what they longed for and they told us their dreams. A picnic. A wristwatch. Something sweet to eat. So, we fulfilled them all. One elder wished for a necklace, and we helped her wear it with joy.
We also donated essential items like refrigerators, televisions, indoor games, and distributed over 70 personalized kitscontaining sarees, shirts, towels, blankets, hygiene products, and more.
This drive wasn’t just about things—it was about dignity. About showing our elders they are still seen, valued, and loved.
